Project Overview
I designed a mobile app that would provide Hide & Seek Leather Co.’s customers with a seamless and engaging platform to explore and purchase custom leather products. The app needed to reflect the brand’s premium identity while ensuring ease of use and functionality.
Design Process
The design process for the mobile app began with user research and defining the app’s key functionalities. I analyzed the existing customer journey and identified pain points to create a streamlined, intuitive app experience. My goal was to design a mobile solution that not only served as a digital storefront but also reinforced the brand’s artisanal qualities.
Wireframing & User Flow
To start, I sketched wireframes and created user flows to map out the app’s structure. I focused on simplifying the navigation, allowing users to easily browse products, customize their items, and make secure purchases. Key features included product filters, customization options, and an interactive “build-your-own” tool for bespoke leather goods.
Visual design
I applied the brand’s visual identity to the app, ensuring that the luxurious, earthy color palette and typography were consistent throughout. The home screen was designed with a large hero image showcasing the quality of the products, followed by curated collections to guide users through the shopping experience. High-quality images and subtle animations were used to evoke a tactile sense of craftsmanship, drawing users into the details of the products.
User Experience (UX) & Interaction Design
I paid special attention to the user experience by designing intuitive touch gestures, smooth transitions, and personalized notifications. Buttons and interactive elements were carefully designed for ease of use, maintaining a balance between elegance and practicality. I incorporated a ‘favorites’ feature for users to save their preferred items and a detailed product page with a zoom-in feature for better viewing of the materials and stitching details.
Strategy & outcome
The strategy for the app design was centered around creating an immersive shopping experience that mirrored the tactile, luxurious feel of the physical products. By blending the brand’s premium identity with a user-friendly interface, I ensured that the app became an extension of the Hide & Seek Leather Co. brand, providing a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for customers. The app has proven effective in increasing engagement, streamlining purchases, and reinforcing the brand’s identity as a leader in premium, bespoke leather goods.
