For this project, I created an original mural artwork for the BUMP Festival, drawing inspiration from “Meeting Space” by Earbugz Collective. Their mural explores the concept of connection between different life paths, with characters crossing through portals representing various journeys. The energy ribbon flowing between these portals symbolizes how our experiences are interconnected across space and time. This resonated deeply with me, so I adapted the concept to reflect my own journey with my partner. In my piece, the two characters symbolize my boyfriend and me, with the portals representing the different worlds we navigate together. Playful food-themed elements and stars highlight the things that bring us joy, while the colorful ribbon flowing through the piece signifies the bond between us as we explore new experiences. This artwork is a celebration of the joy of exploration and the cherished comforts that connect us along the way. Additionally, I designed an infographic poster for the festival, showcasing three other murals and adding context with artist names, semiotic interpretations, and relevant data points, combining personal artwork with curated design to highlight the festival’s vibrant public art.
