This project is a full branding design and identity for Mochitaro, a playful, kawaii-inspired digital illustration and stationery brand that brings joy through irresistibly cute designs. At the heart of the brand is its ever-hungry mascot, Mochitaro, who captures the spirit of fun, curiosity, and a love for all things squishy, sweet, and delightful. Whether it’s rolling into feeds, sticking onto merch, or bouncing into people’s hearts, this project was created to spark smiles, cravings, and a serious case of the munchies.

What started as a personal dream finally came to life through this project. I’ve always had a library of digital illustrations and ideas, but turning them into something shareable felt overwhelming. This course helped me go through the full creative journey step by step, from building a brand identity to designing real products and thinking about how to bring them into the world.

I began by crafting a strong visual identity that could represent not just my art, but also the feeling I wanted people to experience: lightness, comfort, and joy. I developed a brand system with a signature color palette, custom typography, and expressive character design that made Mochitaro instantly recognizable and emotionally resonant.

From there, I designed a range of both digital and physical products, including postcards, calendars, wallpapers, and sticker sets. Each item was created to carry the brand’s joyful tone and kawaii aesthetic. I also created packaging mockups that reflect the brand’s playful spirit and thoughtfully designed social media assets to explore how Mochitaro could show up online, not just to promote but to delight.

What made this project meaningful wasn’t just the visuals, but the purpose behind them. Life can be tough, and I wanted Mochitaro to be a small dose of happiness people could keep with them. Whether it’s a mobile wallpaper that lifts your mood or a sticker that sparks a smile, this brand is my way of sharing joy through art.
Mochitaro also helped me grow, not just in design skills but in confidence. I challenged myself to take creative risks, trust my instincts, and fully commit to my ideas. I proved to myself that I could build something cohesive and heartfelt that connects with others.

This isn’t just a school project. It’s a reflection of the kind of work I want to do in my design career. It combines what I love most: visual storytelling, branding, illustration, and sharing emotion through design. I poured everything into this, and it reminded me exactly why I chose this creative path.
